Description
A raw, low-fi, fuzzy-guitar gem from the band Flowers Destroy. Ten tracks. Short sweet songs, except they’re not really that sweet, they’re post-punk, sometimes edging into a power pop sound. These songs believe in seeing things as they are. Matthew Wascovich provides the lead vocals, and you know him from Scarcity of Tanks, among other bands. Guitarist Doug Gillard you know from Guided by Voices. All the band’s members are veterans of numerous bands and projects, so it’s interesting to hear the alchemy of their sounds in this grouping. The songs can’t help having a feeling for the injustice in the world, but they also entertain and energize, and their sound is not as harsh as some of the band members’ other work. An interesting take on things.
