“Hobbs’ Satan’s Crusade” may not be an original full-length album, but it still is an essential for both collectors and fans of Aussie thrash: “Hobbs’ Satan’s Crusade” was the first release by Peter Hobb’s legendary trash brigade “Hobbs’ Angel of Death” after the comeback in 2003. Having initially been fed on a tasteful diet of Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, Kiss and the likes, Peter Hobbs’ later ventured into darker territory: In the glorious days of the 80’s, the mighty SLAYER and the Big Three of Teutonic Thrash, Destruction, Sodom and Kreator, played the biggest part in inspiring Peter Hobbs to create his very own take on fast, dark and original Trash metal which had never been heard of before in Australia ? a style of Thrash that would rightly be called “virgin metal” later on.
