Description

Thrash Metal or, more precisely, retro-Thrash Metal has come back in full force. New retro-Thrash Metal bands are popping up like mushrooms after a radioactive rain. No matter where you look they are everywhere and most of them are here to stay, at least for a little while. One of the newer Thrash Metal comets comes from Finland and is named Radux. This young trio has only been around two years, so talk about youngsters suffering from puberty and its angst.

A good way to get the most steam from your machine is to play Thrash Metal, preferably in the name of the old school. The first band that comes to mind when listening to Radux’s debut outing, a 3-track demo titled Radiation Kills, is New York’s legendary hardcore thrashers Nuclear Assault. The Radux fellows have done a splendid job of aping Nuclear Assault’s sound. Even bassist/vocalist Juho Vaarala sounds uncannily like John Connelly. Not as good maybe but definitely giving it his best shot. It’s funny to think though that when Nuclear Assault released their debut album Game Over in 1986 these Finnish lads weren’t even born. Well, from one generation to the next Thrash Metal lives on and Radux is entitled to follow in the footsteps of their NY heroes.

You should hear Radiation Kills from Radux to appreciate they are the best Nuclear Assault clone/cover band out there these days. How far that may carry them in the future, time will tell…
