Description

What a difference a little distance can make. Hear a Finn tell you about Rättö ja Lehtisalo and you’d most likely be served regrets about how neither the content nor the absurdist tone of the Pori based semi trio’s avant pop lyricism could ever be passably translated.

Seriously tho, forget that – there’s still the music! The immensely rich sound spectrum of Herttakolmonen invitingly welcomes in a whole bustling planet of synthesized sound! Anything between the poles of raunchy Eurodisco and heroic synth up north, to the chill Antarctic of AUX 88 and Ultradyne.

”Postieversti” makes Klaus Nomiesque symphonic grandeur accessible to people easily annoyed by falsetto, while ”Valonnopeus” is busy fusing the hectic coolness of Tangerine Dream’s L.A. Streethawk / Le Parc era to some rather much earthier vein of Kraut.

But then again, ”Safiiri ja teräs” is without any doubt the most emotive autobio pop lyric ever written about Joanna Lumley’s uber-cult 1970s ATV series Sapphire & Steel. So admittedly, you are missing out on that.
