But when the record spins its last round and the needle rises into the skies, I’m all by myself in my room again. I spin the music once more, lights turn on and loneliness flees whimpering to its corner: because you are with me.
Heartbeat artist Sumuposauttaja releases his second vocal album titled SP2ALBUM on May 7th 2021. In the spirit of nu-disco the artist caresses his synthesizer and blows the coolness of Sade into the night raising his soulful voice in the style of Rick Astley. The lyrics are dada. But it doesn’t matter when you’re so close to me.
Behind Sumuposauttaja and the Yamaha synth stands Sami Aleksi Keinänen, a gifted drummer active in multiple Finnish underground bands.
“With Sumuposauttaja I’m trying to reveal myself although I know it’s impossible. A certain mysticism is created through this conflict. The new album is a follow up to the previous album from three years ago. This time the vocals are even more crucial.”
The album was produced by Pekka Tuomi whose talent can be heard in various 21st century new Finnish pop rock releases, including the Litku Klemetti albums. The vinyl cover art was made by visual artists Frans Nybacka and Heidi Naumanen. An LA based Cudighi Records will also release the album as a cassette in the summer of 2021.
Sumuposauttaja: SP2ALBUM will be released on vinyl, on all digital platforms and cassette. Fonal Records will release a 200 copy limited vinyl edition in collaboration with another Tampere based label Ultraääni. Half of the vinyl edition comes in black and half in green/black splash colour.
