Bomb! *100 copies limited edition* Aftershockmarks the fierce vinyl debut of Finnish trio The Fuckings, a privately issued LP (edition of 100) capturing four slabs of unrelenting, high-intensity free improvisation. Recorded in Helsinki in November 2024 and released in April 2025, the album is a visceral tribute to the legacy of boundary-pushing sonic violence. Composed of Janne Martinkauppi (saxophone), Ilkka Vekka(guitar), and Petri Pirtilä (drums), the group channels a storm of raw interplay and textural excess, evoking the scorched-earth tactics of Borbetomagus, the chaotic energy of Hijokaidan, the scorched tone clusters of Masayuki Takayanagi, and the gale-force phrasing of Peter Brötzmann. There’s no safe entry point here, just full-body immersion into scorched reeds, blistered guitar feedback, and roiling percussive assault.
Recorded and mixed by Martinkauppi, mastered by Otto Juutilainen, and wrapped in artwork by Vekka, Aftershock is as self-contained and unsparing as the music it documents. The LP is dedicated to Donald Miller (1958–2024), a towering figure in free noise and co-founder of Borbetomagus, whose spirit of uncompromising intensity looms over every moment of this release.
