Description

Nottingham outfit Dawn trader act played as support to bands like Angel Witch, Krokus, Magnum and Def Leppard before they ever had released anything. A four track vinyl single was released in a limited run of only 1000 copies back in 1980 and they would also later release two demos on the local Way Ahead records. The band had quite an impressive following but the groups progress was hindered when their manager Graham Neal murdered his girlfriend and then hung himself. The group would perform their last gig with Preston at Nottingham’s Rock City venue at 22nd December 1982, which included a guest appearance from Whitesnake guitarist Bernie Marsden. Dawn Trader had at the time recorded tracks with Marsden at Britannia Row studios but these was never released. The band was sadly missed and their single is one of those highly collectable singles from the Nwobhm era. Now 26 years later the band finally release their debut album called ‘Castle’ in a limited run of only 350 copies. This album features re-recording of old material. Dont blink then the opportunity might be gone to finally own a Dawn Trader vinyl
