Description
Fantasy Interactive Scenarios by Telephone (F.I.S.T.): who remembers this brilliant invention? It was 1988, smartphones didn’t exist, and phones were rudimentary devices on which you could simply punch numbers. The inventive game designer Steve Jackson, the brains behind the Fighting Fantasy gamebook series along with his partner Ian Livingstone, imagined a telephone number that could connect us to another dimension. There, a voice would lead us on fantastic adventures, armed only with our phone’s numeric keypad, through which we could make choices and manage thrilling battles!
This is how “The Castle of Mammon” was born, the first interactive fantasy scenario via telephone! This ancestor of audiobooks was revived a few years ago by the brilliant sweedish independent software house called Sound Realms. Having obtained the official license from Steve Jackson, the Sound Realms team patiently digitized all the analog tapes created at the time and created an app playable on our modern smartphones. Could Gnoll resist the temptation to create the soundtrack for this incredible and authentic ’80s game? Of course not!

The soundtrack, composed and arranged by the Gnoll ensemble with their signature blend of vintage analog synths, powerful percussive patterns, and orchestral arrangements, is inspired by ’80s soundtracks like The Goonies, Labyrinth, and Yado.
The cassette includes a card that allows you to download a free demo version of the game!
